My brush with the law

I’m in the throes of writing the 2006 annual review for the Bedell Group, a charming firm of lawyers and financial experts based in Jersey. HGV are designing the document and have come up with a very imaginative, engaging route. Earlier in the month, I spent two days in St Helier interviewing the firm’s partners and getting to grips with securitisation, conduits, special purpose vehicles and trusts, among other things. My brief is to help Bedell sound accessible and friendly yet serious and professional.

Judgment days

Next week I'll be holed up in a secret London location for two days, sifting through piles of the year's best graphic design. Yes, it's the Design Week Awards judging, and I'm honoured to have been invited to sit on the Print jury for the third time. Fellow jurors include Michael Wolff, Mike Dempsey, Michael Johnson and several other people called Michael. If previous years are anything to go by, there will be plenty of lively debate, impeccable work from all the usual suspects, and who knows, maybe a few undiscovered gems.
